Community comes together to celebrate Bloomsday

Our traditional performance of Ulysses aWake on Bloomsday by a local drama company provided the perfect occasion to showcase what a village community and local business can do together to create a memorable and inclusive event. Hundreds of people from the locale came to the centre to enjoy a spectacular theatrical performance to mark Bloomsday.

Visitors were not just treated to a spellbinding show, our anchor store SuperValu served up platters of really tasty food, creating a great atmosphere. Our unrivalled Pizzeria, Fetta a Mano, offered the audience mouthwatering pizza bites. We also teamed up with the celebrated Blackrock Cellar in Blackrock Village who provided the audience with delicious ‘Dubliner’ cheese and bubbly and our tenant Zurich who offered branded cupcakes. Our retailers One Dame Lane and Dubray Books sponsored our Best Dressed Woman and Man which added to the memories created.

Very much part of the occasion was our Charity Partner, the Blackrock Hospice, who benefited from the generosity of the audience and customers.

The centre’s Bloomsday Event is a firm fixture in the local community calendar, which this is consistent with our commitment to being at the heart of the Blackrock community.
